From the Ingles studio this is your news minute on the Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast presented by Engineered Solutions of Georgia. Today is Monday August 21st, and I'm Brian Giffin.
October Olester Scott, a 27-year-old Acworth man, has been indicted by a Cherokee County grand jury on charges related to an armed robbery incident that occurred on Halloween night. He faces two counts of possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, armed robbery, and aggravated assault. Allegedly, Scott stole marijuana vapes, a lottery ticket, and Mentos mints from a gas station, and when a store clerk followed him outside, he displayed a gun and verbally threatened the employee. He was also charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects. Scott was arrested on separate charges later and was released on bond. An indictment is not a conviction, and the defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
