Tarus Porter, an Atlanta man, has been arrested on charges of financial transaction card theft and financial identity fraud. He is accused of using credit cards belonging to his former employer in the Canton area to make purchases amounting to over $84,000. Porter had been issued Home Depot and Lowe's credit cards during his employment, and he retained possession of them after leaving the job. The alleged fraudulent transactions took place over a 10-day period in September. Porter was released from jail on July 9 after posting a bond of $9,996. The charges were filed by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office.
