STORY 1: Braves Presale
Single-game tickets for potential National League Division Series and National League Championship Series games at Truist Park will be available to the general public on September 22 at 10 a.m. Premium Club Members and A-List Members get early access starting on September 21 at 10 a.m. Fans can also sign up for the Braves Insider Newsletter by September 20 to receive a presale code for September 21 at noon. Tickets are limited, and the presale is open to residents of the seven states in Braves Country. STORY 2: Marrietta Redistricted Hearings
The city of Marietta is in the process of redistricting its wards to comply with federal law, which mandates equal population sizes every 10 years based on census data. Currently, each ward should have around 8,710 residents. The Marietta City Council and Marietta Board of Education both follow these ward maps and have seven members each. Two options for new maps were presented, with the council choosing one that includes a school and a park in each ward. Public hearings on this map were scheduled for a City Council meeting in September and another in October, as required by law.
STORY 3: Chris Ragsdale named National Superintendent of the Year!
Cobb County Superintendent Chris Ragsdale has been named the National Superintendent of the Year by the American Heart Association for his dedication to ending cardiovascular disease through in-school programs. Under his leadership, Cobb Schools raised record-breaking amounts for the Kids Heart Challenge and American Heart Challenge. Ragsdale emphasized the importance of a heart-healthy lifestyle for all students. During the virtual awards ceremony, he was praised as a "true champion" for the American Heart Association's mission. Additionally, Alesha Whitaker, a PE teacher at Cobb Online Learning Academy, received the American Heart Challenge Rookie of the Year award. The awards highlight the commitment of schools and educators to improving health and saving lives............…..(pause)

STORY 4: KSU ‘You Matter’ program uses trends and friends to fight mental health crises
Kennesaw State University (KSU) has launched the "You Matter" suicide prevention and mental health program, aimed at reducing the stigma around mental health issues among college students. The program includes events and signage encouraging discussion of mental health, teaching students to recognize signs of suicide, and directing them to resources. KSU also plans to engage peer counselors who can provide relatable support. This initiative aims to create a campus culture where students feel comfortable seeking help. It was launched during National Suicide Prevention Month and seeks to address the isolation many students felt during the pandemic. Students in crisis can reach out to various support lines and resources provided by KSU.
STORY 5: City of Kennesaw Parks & Recreation to host Fall-O-Ween Fest
The City of Kennesaw Parks & Recreation is hosting its annual Fall-O-Ween Fest on October 7th from 3 to 7 p.m. at Swift-Cantrell Park. The event is free and includes activities like a candy trail, costume contests, scavenger hunt, crafts, field games, and a movie showing of Hotel Transylvania. Attendees are encouraged to bring blankets or low-back chairs for comfort. Concessions and local craft merchandise will be available, along with free reusable trick-or-treat bags. The Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Costume Contest will be held throughout the evening, and parking is available at the park and Kennesaw Elementary School.
