A man named Timothy Luke Matthews, aged 37, was arrested by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office. He has been charged with multiple felonies and a misdemeanor. The charges include two counts of felony aggravated assault against a peace officer, one count of felony aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and one count of possession of methamphetamine. Additionally, he faces a misdemeanor charge of criminal trespassing for damaging property.
According to a warrant filed by the sheriff's office, on May 28, Matthews charged at a woman inside his house with a knife. He also charged at two deputies with two knives raised and pointed towards them. Furthermore, he allegedly ripped a TV off the wall and threw it to the ground, as well as broke a blue bowl. During the arrest, deputies found a pill bottle containing methamphetamine in his possession.
Matthews is currently held at the Cherokee County jail, with a bond set at $21,375.
