From the Ingles Studios this is your news minute on the Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast presented by Credit Union of Georgia. Today is Monday August 7th and I'm Brian GiffinJames Richard Fain, a Canton man, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found with 100 grams of methamphetamine during a traffic stop last year. He pleaded guilty to trafficking methamphetamine and possession of cocaine. Fain's sentence includes 30 years, with the first 10 to be served in prison and the remainder on probation with conditions such as community service, no alcohol or drug use, no firearms, and payment of fines. The arrest followed a Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad investigation initiated by a traffic stop where agents discovered methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana in Fain's vehicle. The district attorney's office praised the work of the squad in preventing the drugs from reaching the streets. For more on this and other community news visit tribuneledgernews.com.
