Christopher George Roberts, a 52-year-old man from Canton, was sentenced to 30 years in prison, the first 15 without parole due to repeat offending. The case began with a report of a stolen truck in April of 2020. Roberts, who had moved to Canton to live with his girlfriend, also shared the house with his ex-wife and her boyfriend. When confronted about the stolen truck, he threatened both women and refused to return it, leading to charges of terroristic threats, family violence aggravated assault, and theft by taking. Despite being out on bond, Roberts continued his violent behavior. In August 2020, he became intoxicated, assaulted his girlfriend, then fled, removing his ankle monitor and evading law enforcement across multiple states. Throughout the process, Roberts manipulated and terrorized those around him, showing little remorse for his actions. His violent tendencies and criminal behavior resulted in a 15-year prison sentence.
