Two graduating seniors from the Cherokee County School District in Georgia have received community scholarships. Samantha Noyes, a senior at Etowah High School, won the Towne Lake Academy Scholarship, which is awarded to one graduate each spring who plans to become a teacher and is based on an application, essay questions, and references. Noyes, who plans to attend the University of Georgia to study early childhood education, will receive $2,500. Cherokee High School senior Yenyfeer Ramos Mendoza won the annual Maritza Mott Scholarship, which is awarded to one graduating senior each spring based on an application, essay questions, and references. Mendoza, who plans to study nursing at Kennesaw State University, will receive $1,000.
