From the Ingles Studios this is your news minute on the Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast, presented by Engineered Solutions of Georgia. Today is Thursday June 8th, and I'm Brian Giffin.
A house fire in southwest Cherokee County has left a family in need of assistance, prompting their neighbors to raise funds for them. The fire, which occurred near Woodstock, caused significant damage to the home of Casey and Tommy DiGiacomo and their two sons. While there were no reported injuries, the family lost their cherished memories and belongings. The community has come together to support them by organizing a GoFundMe campaign to provide shelter, basic needs, and help in restoring their home. The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but it is believed to have started accidentally on the back porch. Additionally, a cat from the household has gone missing. In the last day or so, the fundraising page has raised over $12,000. Those interested in donating or obtaining more information should visit tribuneledgernews.com
