Cherokee County leaders to discuss $396M budget

The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners is set to discuss the county's proposed $396 million budget for the 2024 fiscal year. The budget includes allocations for various departments, with significant portions designated for public safety and general administration. It also includes funding for 40 new positions across different areas, such as fire and EMS, law enforcement, and parks maintenance. The capital funds budget is $107.7 million, with projects covering fire stations, sheriff's office improvements, parks and recreation, public works, and courthouse facilities. A public hearing on the proposed budget is scheduled for potential adoption on October 3rd.
