Show Notes

From the Ingles Studios, this is your news minute on the cherokee tribune ledger podcast, presented by Dayco Systems. Today is Friday June 30th, and I'm Brian Giffin.
As the Fourth of July approaches, Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services is urging residents to prioritize safety while using fireworks during celebrations. They recommend attending public fireworks shows for the safest experience. However, for those planning to use fireworks, the department provides several safety tips. These include purchasing fireworks from licensed dealers, following state laws, carefully reading labels, and having adult supervision. It is crucial not to allow children to ignite fireworks and to wear safety glasses when handling them. Other precautions involve lighting only one firework at a time, using fireworks outdoors in a clear area away from buildings and vehicles, and never attempting to relight a firework. Additionally, having a garden hose or bucket of water nearby is advised, and caution should be exercised with animals to prevent fear and stress caused by the fireworks' noise and lights.
