The city of Lilburn is organizing a Citizens’ Government Academy, called "Lilburn 101," to offer residents and business owners an inside look at various aspects of city operations, such as budgeting, code enforcement, policing, public works, and governance. The initiative aims to foster greater engagement with local government, enhance transparency, and build relationships between city staff and potential future leaders. The academy is free and open to individuals aged 18 and above who live or do business in Lilburn. The program consists of seven weekly sessions, held on consecutive Thursdays, beginning on September 7 and concluding on October 19, with a graduation ceremony at City Hall. Enrollment is limited to 15 participants, prioritizing city residents and business owners. Registration ends on September 1 and can be done by contacting the Public Information Officer.
