Publish Date: October 19th
INTRODUCTION
From the Henssler Financial Studio, welcome to Cobb Life, proudly brought to you by the Marietta Daily Journal. I'm Keith Ippolito, representing the BG Ad Group, and we're excited to have you join us for this latest episode. Our show's lineup is brought to you by Credit Union of Georgia. Now, for today's episode, we had originally planned to sit down with local historian Bill Marchione. Unfortunately, Bill isn't feeling his best this week, so we've rescheduled our chat for next week. But don't fret because we've got a fantastic conversation lined up for you. Our very own Brian Giffin will be speaking with Acworth's Mayor, Tommy Allegood, about his transformative "Quality of Life" campaign. Tommy, hailing from Atlanta, boasts an impressive background. Graduating from Gordon Military College in 1970, he went on to complete his education at the University of Georgia in 1972. Tommy then embarked on a successful management career with Lowe's Companies, with a focus on building and development. His exceptional leadership skills have consistently brought people together to achieve shared objectives. In 2000, Tommy was elected to the Acworth city council, and in 2002, he assumed the role of Mayor. He's currently in his fifth unopposed term, during which Acworth's population has doubled to 24,000 residents. Early in his mayoral tenure, he launched the visionary "Quality of Life" campaign, propelling Acworth's rapid growth in both residential and commercial sectors within Cobb County. So, stay tuned for an enlightening episode of Cobb Life, where we uncover the diverse stories and experiences within our vibrant community.
