The goal is to make the screening program available in ten communities throughout the state in honor of the Women's Heart Program's 10-year anniversary. Story 5: budget

The city of Conyers has received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for its fiscal year 2022-2023 budget, marking 31 consecutive years of receiving this recognition. The budget and ACFRs are available for public access on the city's website.

STORY 6: art

Sheriff Ezell Brown and the Newton County Sheriff's Office organized their first art exhibit, showcasing the creative works of eight inmates who completed a seven-week online arts and crafts program instructed by a local artist. The exhibit, held on July 20, aims to provide rehabilitation and skills development opportunities to inmates, helping them re-enter society successfully and reduce recidivism. The Newton County Sheriff's Office offers over 20 jail programs, including arts and crafts, to support inmates' growth and education during their incarceration. Sheriff Brown expressed pride in the inmates' artwork and emphasized the importance of helping those who have lost their way find a path to success.
