Energy Assistance Program Opens Jan. 3
The new year brings good news for those in need of energy assistance. Starting today, the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program will be open to the public at 8:30 am. This program, administered by the Georgia Division of Family and Children Services, aims to help low-income households pay for their home heating costs.
To apply for this program, interested individuals must call their local community service center and provide proof of income and citizenship. Eligible households will receive a one-time payment directly to their home energy supplier. However, assistance is on a first-come, first-served basis with limited funds available.
