A house fire in southwest Cherokee County near Acworth is being investigated by firefighters. The incident occurred at around 10:03 a.m. on Thursday, prompting Cherokee County and Woodstock firefighters to respond. Flames and smoke were observed emanating from the residence. Due to restricted access both to and inside the house, firefighters battled the blaze for several hours. Old Highway 92 was largely closed during the response, and one lane of Highway 92 towards Acworth was temporarily closed at the start of the incident. Fortunately, no injuries were reported. The source of the fire is still being probed by authorities.
