Today is Thursday July 20th and I'm Brian Giffin.Four residents of Canton have been arrested following the discovery of illegal drugs and a "chop shop" at a residence. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office responded to a suspicious activity call and encountered Heather Bird, who was found in the bed of a stolen pickup truck, and David Bird, who claimed the vehicle belonged to Terry Spriggs. A stolen motorcycle and engine were also found at the location. Justin Benson was discovered hiding under a bed and had an active warrant for his arrest. After obtaining a search warrant, authorities seized 123 grams of methamphetamine, 30.3 grams of cocaine, 7.6 grams of fentanyl, and other controlled substances, including cocaine, THC, and prescription medication. All four suspects were arrested and charged with various offenses related to drug trafficking, possession, theft, and operating a chop shop. As of the latest update, they remained in custody with different bond situations.
