Gwinnett County Public Schools will dole out one-time bonuses in December

Gwinnett County Public Schools will provide a one-time $1,000 retention payment to active, benefits-eligible employees as a Christmas bonus. The decision was part of the fiscal year 2024 budget and will be disbursed in December 2023. Superintendent Dr. Calvin J. Watts expressed appreciation for the dedication of employees and stated that this bonus reflects the district's commitment to supporting staff in achieving educational goals. Although it's a retention payment, it will be subject to various deductions, including benefits-related, federal, state, and local deductions. This bonus is in addition to cost-of-living raises and teacher raises approved earlier in the year.
