Gwinnett police ID suspect in shooting at Sugarloaf Mills
Gwinnett County police have identified a suspect in the shooting incident at Sugarloaf Mills that occurred on August 5. The suspect, Ethan Dumas, a 20-year-old from Decatur, is wanted on multiple charges, including three counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property in the first degree, terroristic threats and acts, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and reckless conduct.
The incident led to panic at the shopping center, with reports of gunfire and concerns about an active shooter. However, no one was injured in the shooting. Detectives determined that the gunfire followed a confrontation between two suspects and a shoe kiosk employee.
Dumas is described as approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing about 170 pounds. Although he was initially pictured with dreadlocks, it has been noted that he no longer has them.
Authorities are urging anyone with information about Dumas' whereabouts to contact Gwinnett County police detectives or Crime Stoppers, which allows tipsters to remain anonymous. A cash reward is offered for information leading to Dumas' arrest and indictment.
