Leondre Andrew Flynt, a 21-year-old man from Loganville, has been reported missing since July 29. He was last seen leaving his home on Caltron Cove Court at around 10:45 a.m. Gwinnett County police are seeking the public's help to locate him. Flynt is described as 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 140 pounds, with cornrows in his hair. At the time he went missing, he was wearing a white sleeveless shirt, black jeans, and red slides. He may have had a change of clothes with him. He was driving a maroon 2018 GMC Canyon pickup truck with a temporary tag bearing the number #P4682911. STORY 2: pervert
Gwinnett County police are searching for an unidentified man who allegedly exposed himself to a woman at an apartment complex in Norcross back on July 23rd. The man followed the woman, stopped at the bottom of the stairs near her apartment building, and exposed his genitals. The incident was captured on video. The woman's husband arrived home, but the suspect had already fled. The suspect is described as a light-skinned Hispanic male wearing a black hat with a red bill and a dog on it, along with a blue soccer jersey and blue jeans. Heather Wheeler, a science teacher at North Gwinnett Middle School, is a finalist for the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST). The award, sponsored by the National Science Foundation, is the highest honor for K-12 STEM teaching in the United States. Wheeler is one of six state finalists recognized for her deep subject knowledge and ability to motivate and inspire students. She will now compete at the national level, with a chance to win a $10,000 award, a certificate from the President, and a trip to Washington, D.C., for recognition events and professional development opportunities.

The Gwinnett County Chamber of Commerce was named the "Chamber of the Year" by the Association of Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) during their annual conference. This is the first time Gwinnett's chamber has won the prestigious award, although it has been a finalist twice before. The award recognizes the chamber's outstanding leadership and contributions to driving economic growth in the community. Gwinnett was selected from among 1,300 chambers of commerce across the country. The recognition comes shortly after the chamber received a five-star accreditation from the U.S. Chamber, further affirming its strong leadership and impact.

Gwinnett County native Stacy Powell was crowned the 2023 National American Miss Georgia Queen, with the honor of being named first runner-up for Miss Personality. She will compete in the national pageant in Orlando during Thanksgiving week. The National American Miss Pageants aim to celebrate America's greatness and empower young women through cash, scholarships, and prizes. The pageants focus on inner beauty, poise, and personal development, encouraging self-confidence and goal-setting. Powell is involved in advocating for exercise and nutrition for youth, weightlifting, singing, and spending time with her rescue cat, Louie.

Six students from Gwinnett County Public Schools' Class of 2023 have been named recipients of 2023 National Merit Scholarships funded by U.S. colleges and universities. The winners and their probable career fields are Timothy Nguyen (Software Engineering), Joey T. Xie (Medicine), Joshua D. Caruso (Fine Arts), Rachel C. Han (Undecided), Jordan A. Katz (Music), and Fatima Manzar (Medicine). The scholarships, provided by sponsor colleges, range from $500 to $2,000 annually for up to four years of undergraduate study. This year, over 7,140 students were selected as National Merit Scholars, receiving scholarships totaling nearly $28 million for their undergraduate studies.
