From the Henssler Financial Studios this is your news minute on the Gwinnett Daily Post podcast presented by Engineered Solutions of Georgia. Today is Monday July 24th, and I'm Brian Giffin.
Gwinnett County police are seeking to identify two individuals who attempted to steal $250,000 from a business account at a Bank of America in Peachtree Corners. The suspects used fraudulent identification paperwork to try and transfer the money from an account belonging to Progressive Recycling, a Norcross-based business. However, the bank's security check process stopped the transfer.
The suspects, described as a Hispanic man and a Black man, presented themselves as the owner of the recycling business during the attempted theft. The bank promptly alerted Progressive Recycling about the suspicious cashier's check, and they worked together to prevent the transfer from being cashed.
The police are urging anyone with information about the suspects' identities to contact them directly or provide anonymous tips through Crime Stoppers. A cash reward is offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment, with the reference case number GP230038527.
