In his State of the Schools Address, Gwinnett Superintendent Calvin Watts discussed the district's progress towards achieving a 90% graduation rate by 2027. While the state has not yet released 2023 graduation rates, GCPS had an 83.2% rate in 2022. Watts outlined strategies, including sending letters to students and parents, targeted school visits, and discussions on post-graduation goals, to help students succeed. He emphasized the importance of community involvement in school success and highlighted school safety measures such as visitor management programs and crisis alert badges.
