STORY 4: Georgia School for the Deaf Names Albert Hall in Honor of Former Teacher
The Georgia School for the Deaf honored Stephanie Smith Albert by renaming a dormitory Albert Hall, recognizing her impactful work as a guidance counselor. At a ceremony, her widower, Tim Albert, spoke of her kindness and dedication to students. Despite her short six-year tenure, Stephanie left a lasting impression, cherished by students and staff. After moving to Ohio, her unexpected death in 2018 deeply affected the school community. The renaming, part of the school's 175th anniversary celebrations, was decided by a landslide vote.
