STORY 3:   Mulberry Residents Electing First City Council. What We Know

In the upcoming November 5 election in Gwinnett County, aside from the presidential and local races, voters in the newly established city of Mulberry will elect their first city leaders. This follows the city's controversial creation, which has led to several lawsuits. Five City Council seats are up for grabs, with the election managed by Gwinnett County officials. Early voting has seen 958 in-person votes and nine absentee ballots issued. The elected council members will assume office in 2025, selecting a mayor and initiating city operations. Early voting continues until November 1 at the Dacula Park Activity Building, with separate rooms for general and special elections.
