Job seeker bootcamp available ahead of Cherokee Career Expo

From the Ingles Studio this is your news minute on the Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast presented by Powers Electrical Solutions. Today is Friday, September 8th and I'm Keith Ippolito.

The Cherokee Office of Economic Development, in collaboration with Goodwill of North Georgia, is offering an online workshop called the Cherokee Career Expo Jobseeker Bootcamp on September 20th. This virtual boot camp aims to prepare job seekers for the Cherokee Career Expo on September 27th, providing guidance on navigating a career expo, crafting an elevator pitch, receiving resume assistance, and preparing for interviews. The career expo will feature nearly 40 local employers and offers opportunities for job seekers to explore various career options, network with employers, and even participate in on-site interviews. Goodwill will provide in-person resume and interview assistance during the event. The expo is part of COED's Work In Cherokee campaign, aimed at promoting local job opportunities and reducing commutes. Registration for job seekers is free, and employers can register to participate until September 15th.
