From the Hennsler Financial Studios this is your news minute on the Marietta Daily Journal podcast, presented by Engineered Solutions of Georgia. Today is Monday June the 12th, and I'm Brian Giffin.
A Marietta man, Hamilton Romeo Dominguez, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison for molesting two girls. Cobb District Attorney Flynn Broady Jr. announced the verdict, stating that Dominguez was found guilty of four counts of child molestation by a Cobb County jury following a six-day trial. The incidents occurred in 2017 when a 7-year-old girl revealed to her mother that Dominguez had molested her between the ages of five and six. Detectives from the Cobb police's Special Victims Unit discovered that the girl had confided in her 9-year-old friend, who had also been molested by Dominguez on one occasion. Both girls, now 13 and 15, testified during the trial about the impact of the incidents on their lives. Dominguez received a 10-year prison sentence followed by eight years on probation. The prosecution was handled by assistant district attorneys Kristen Judd and Rachel Plevak, while defense attorneys Karen Pass and Steve Adkins represented Dominguez.
