Marietta School Board to Consider Superintendent’s Contract
On November 14, 2023, the Marietta Board of Education is set to vote on extending Superintendent Grant Rivera's contract, which currently runs through 2025 with an annual extension review. Rivera, with a base salary of approximately $232,350 and a total pay package of $392,246 plus benefits, is eligible for a $10,000 performance bonus and payment for up to 10 unused vacation days. Georgia law permits a maximum three-year superintendent contract. Although the district hasn't released the extension details, the board has consistently extended Rivera's contract to the full three years based on performance metrics. The meeting is scheduled for Tuesday at 6 p.m. at the district’s central office at 250 Howard St.
