In the fall of 2020, Cherokee County resident Jill Bowden quit her job as a radiology assistant to follow her dream of creating her own garden full of flowers, and she hasn’t looked back since.
Bowden and her husband, Eric Bowden, an engineer, started to transform their five-acre property shortly after she quit her job.
“I was being pulled in to work all the time — I was never here and couldn’t enjoy what we had, so I left healthcare,” Bowden said. “Gardening has always been a part of me. My grandfather on my mom’s side grew a huge vegetable garden. On my dad’s side, my grandmother grew a lot of flowers. My family has owned multiple properties in Cherokee County, and we’ve always had a garden, but I focused on vegetables. But flowers just evoke so much emotion and being able to share them — it’s just the best job ever and it’s all about happiness and joy.”
