Over 400 Votes Cast in Cherokee's First Week of Early Voting
During the first week of early voting in Cherokee County, a total of 401 votes were cast in person, along with five valid absentee ballots. Early voting started slow on October 16 with 45 votes, but the turnout increased during the week, peaking at 98 in-person votes on Thursday. Most early voters cast their ballots at the elections office in Canton, while only 40 voted at the South Annex facility in Woodstock. Early voting will continue until November 3, with varying hours in the coming weeks. Cherokee County offers two locations for early voting, and voters need to present one of six types of photo ID. Election Day for municipal elections in Canton and Woodstock is set for November 7.
