The Gwinnett County Fair, which recently began, carries the memory of its former manager, Dale Thurman. Story 6: Caitlyn Soroka onside kick, field goal in waning seconds caps thrilling Brookwood comeback
Brookwood's football team staged an incredible comeback, trailing 22-0 late in the third quarter but winning 23-22 against Carver-Columbus. Quarterback Matt Peavy led the comeback with three second-half touchdown passes. Despite the adversity, Brookwood's players never lost belief and fought back to secure the dramatic victory. This win followed a similar comeback earlier in the season when they overcame a 20-7 deficit to win 21-20.
Story 7: Mill Creek wins another high-scoring clash with Cedar Grove
The Mill Creek Hawks won their fourth consecutive game of the 2023 football season by defeating Cedar Grove 56-35 in a high-scoring matchup. Mill Creek's senior running back, Cam Robinson, played a crucial role with over 200 rushing yards and three touchdowns. Despite a furious third-quarter rally from Cedar Grove, Mill Creek held on for the victory. The Hawks' strong start, led by quarterback Shane Throgmartin and Robinson, gave them an early lead.
