From the Ingles Studio this is your news minute on the Cherokee Tribune Ledger Podcast presented by Engineered Solutions of Georgia. Today is Thursday August 31st, and I'm Brian Giffin.

An Acworth man, Cibias John Vieira (22), and a teenager, Kaiden Pridgen (17), have been arrested and charged by the Cherokee County Sheriff's Office for entering a home with the intention of committing an armed robbery. Vieira faces charges including first-degree home invasion, conspiracy, aggravated assault, and kidnapping. Pridgen was also arrested on the same charges. According to warrants, they entered a home armed with pistols on February 4, 2022, and forced one of the homeowners to move from her hiding spot to the kitchen, where they held her at gunpoint. They demanded property from the homeowners and allegedly struck one of them on the head with a pistol. The two took an airsoft pistol resembling a real firearm. Pridgen was held without bond in Cherokee County, while Vieira was in Cobb County custody, facing charges related to a fatal shooting in May.
