Voter registration deadline is Oct. 10
Cherokee County residents have until October 10th to register to vote in the upcoming municipal elections on November 7th. Voters can register at cherokeegavotes.com. In Canton, the mayoral seat and two city council seats are contested. Mayor Bill Grant seeks re-election against Andy Tubbs. For the Ward 2 council seat, Samantha "Sammy" Baker, Bryan Roach, and Luke Smith are competing. The Ward 3 seat has Tracye Busbee and former Councilmember Farris Yawn as candidates. Canton Councilmember Shawn Tolan and Travis Johnson qualified unopposed for re-election. Woodstock city residents will vote on a $24 million bond for the Little River Park project, and three council members qualified unopposed for re-election. In Nelson, a city council election features incumbents and challengers, with at-large seats being contested.
